First and foremost, for those who are regular visitors, may we apologise for the delay in updating our website. The reasons for this can be seen in the story below.

Firstly lets tell you about the recent past and the future so that those that get bored easily can slope off. Having just returned from playing In The City music festival in Manchester and various live radio sessions Opaque are set to head back into the studio for their next album. With festival season over the band is turning it’s attention to getting ready to record their next album. With all the material written it is just a matter of studio time , and a bitta practise to be honest.

So what have Opaque been up to in the last year? Since releasing The Last Moustache through Drip-Dry Productions (www.myspace.com/dripdryproductions), Peterborough’s home grown community label and recording studio. Opaque spent the last couple of summers touring the festivals including Secret Garden, Bestival, GrassRoots, Strawberry Fair, Small World, Newton Festival, Fire Gathering and also a tour along the south coast with local friends & legends Point Of Origin.

2006 sprung many changes for Opaque, with the sorry departure of Graham Edwards (Bass), & Steve Cooper (Electric Guitar), who we wish all the luck in the world and are very glad to of spent many years enjoying their musical delights. This lead to the arrival of Chopper (Bass) who has inspired a new energy in the band, opaque have a new line up, a new enthusiasm and a new sound for the next album.

Last year was the year of Muddy Promotions (www.muddy.org.uk). With the help and involvement of many talented individuals, of which all are volunteers, they organised the first GrassRoots Music & Arts Festival, and the Muddy community was born. The festival was three beautiful days of music from all genre’s, comedy, performance art, poetry, and was full to capacity with not a shred of litter, thankyou.

With the festival over there was a huge music and arts community with nowhere to go and an abundance of creative energy that had been ignited. The next step for the Muddy crew was to open up The Glass Onion Music & Arts Community Centre in Peterborough. In September 2006 they turned this disused building into a safe space for the creative minds of this sleepy surburban city. The Glass Onion has now been open for 1 year and is run completely by volunteers and is host to a recording studio, band rehearsal room, art room, dark room, digital art suite, fair trade café bar and music venue. And is home to many of Peterborough’s fine talent..

Please keep an eye on our gigs, which have now also been updated on here, but are also regularly tweaked on Myspace.

Peace, love and respect from all the boys in Opaque.
